Eberhard Sinner
We congratulate
to the 80th Birthday
The birthday celebrations for relatives, friends and acquaintances began with an ecumenical service in the parish church of St. Michael, in which his tireless efforts for understanding and peace were highlighted.
After a serenade by his hunting friends, Eberhard Sinner greeted his guests with a short speech in which he briefly introduced the guests and described the realisation of the construction of the Rossoschka Chapel of Peace, which was still possible at the time. Today, the motto of the OWWF Bavaria ‘Building bridges from barriers’ is again an arduous but necessary and meaningful task.
and the Europe Medal
On Monday, 25 November 2024, in the Marble Hall of the Prinz-Carl-Palais, Bavaria's Minister for Europe, Eric Beißwenger, presented committed Europeans with the ‘Medal for Special Services to the Free State of Bavaria in Europe and the World’. For over 30 years, the Free State of Bavaria has been honouring people who have rendered outstanding services to the Free State of Bavaria in a united Europe or to Bavaria's international reputation in the world in a variety of ways with the Europe Medal.
Minister of State Eric Beißwenger: ‘We need Europe, but Europe needs us too. Because we all share responsibility for Europe. The recipients of the Bavarian Europe Medal are particularly committed to this. They are all dedicated Europeans and bridge-builders who are wholeheartedly committed to our community of values and cohesion in Europe. We need this commitment now more than ever. Europe is facing enormous challenges in security policy, global competitiveness, climate change, sustainable energy supply and digital transformation. We can only overcome these challenges together in a united Europe with strong regions. Congratulations to the recipients of the Europe Medal for their commitment: they are role models and ambassadors for Bavaria around the world!’
Eberhard Sinner, former member of the Bavarian State Parliament and the German Bundestag, Lohr am Main, received the award for his many years of commitment to Bavaria in Europe and the world, above and beyond his work as Minister for Europe and Member of the Bavarian Parliament. He is an important mediator between East and West as President of the OstWestWirtschaftsForum Bayern (Bavarian Forum for East-West Economic Relations) and former Chairman of the Medien-Club München (Munich Media Club).
