Hungary and Bavaria are linked by thousands of years of history. The Iron Curtain separated them for decades.
Today, Hungary is a member of the European Union and one of Bavaria's most important trading partners. Bavarian companies export to Hungary and invest in Hungary. Around 2300 companies have business relations with Hungary. The volume of trade now stands at €15 billion.
OWWF Bavaria sees Hungary as an important strategic partner in the Danube region, building bridges to neighboring countries, especially the border with Ukraine. However, we also see the tensions that exist within the EU: Hungary's domestic political development, the relationship between Hungary and Ukraine and Russia policy.
