Romania is one of the fastest growing economies in Europe. According to estimates, the service sector accounted for about 50 % of GDP in 2011, the industrial sector for 38 % and the agricultural sector for 12 %. Germany ranks first in foreign trade, both in exports and imports.

It must be in Bavaria's interest to strengthen the Danube economic region. A secure economic perspective will lead to more political stability and consolidation of democracy. Let us recognise the "economic stimulus package" that offers numerous opportunities in our neighbourhood.
